Are you running behind your sales target??
I was talking to one of my friend who was very anxious because he was running behind his sales target. This is the most common situation of most of the people who are in sales. In fact, for most of the people this is all the more reason for not getting into sales job because they don't want to get themselves in the same anxiety every month. But what I realized over a period of time that the major problem in sales job is that, it is the only profession where most of the people think they know but actually they don't and therefore even if you are running behind your sales target then to be it becomes very important for a person to gotta stay relax. Below are some tips which might help you to achieve your monthly sales target:
1. Seek an appointment: This is the first and the most important stage. Always seek an appointment before visiting your client. You should never project yourself as a sales man, rather talk to your clients as a business consultant and be proud of yourself that you are among very few people who have the ability to convince people that they cannot be as intelligent as you are. Understand their psychology and make them understand that they really have a problem and you have the perfect solution for them.
2. Communicate with confidence: Don’t be afraid while meeting your clients, the reason most people don’t want to meet sales people is because they are aware that if they do then it’s gonna cost them something. So now you got the opportunity so better don’t miss it. Make him confuse if you are not able to convince.
3. Negotiate carefully: This is the stage where most sales guys misinterpret their clients and lose the sale. And as Celso Cukierkorn said in his book, Secret of Jewish wealth revealed, "negotiation is a give and take process but being in control of the process is the only way to be successful at it". So keep your body and soul together and speak the right word in a right manner. Most of the times your clients will negotiate with you not because they care for the money which they are going to save but rather they want their ego to be satisfied. So instead of getting into the negotiation try to take control over the process and close the sale.
4. Make the process supreme: The bottom line of any sales job is the number closures you do. I realized over the period of time that the reason why people are not able to achieve their sales target is because there focus is not on what they want. I have seen people plan their day, week or month and the they follow the most common calculation. More the number of calls they do more they get the appointments and more the closures will be. But if the more number of appointments doesn't get more closures than people often face the same performance anxiety. So the point here which I am trying to make is that being a sales guy make the process of doing the closures supreme and make the results irrelevant. Continue with the process and closures will happen automatically.
5. On not achieving targets: Never take no for an answer and keep chasing until you get what you want because you all deserve it. And you gotta believe in it because if you don't then no one else is going to believe it ever.
